ANATOMY OF THE KNEE

AN INSIDE LOOK AT THE STRUCTURE OF THE KNEE

The body’s largest weight bearing joint is formed by the connection of the thigh bone (femur), the shin bones (tibia/fibula) and the kneecap (patella). Muscles and tendons surround the knee joint and provide strength and mobility, while the ligament and cartilage within the knee provide stability while ambulating.
